Mushroom Sky is one of my favorites because it’s so hopeful…like spring follows winter, no matter what you’ve lost, this too shall pass.
Waves is one that came from a riff of Brian’s and the interplay between the instruments…the movement of the music just took me there, and the lyrics pretty much wrote themselves. Its three of the countless stories that could be heard in the waves – if you’re listening.
Breathing was actually written a few years back when I was involved with some people who seemed to be constantly living in the past or projecting into the future. They carried a lot of stress and uptightness, and being around them was somewhat exhausting. Their lack of presence in the “now” inspired the lyrics. The new arrangement by the band makes this song more fun.
