The streets of Eugene seemed oddly empty tonight… and there was a strange heaviness in the air – with clouds blanketing the sky yet refusing to release their rain. It was almost as if the entire night were holding it’s breath… waiting…<\/p>\n

Yes, tonight was the night of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows
\nrelease parties<\/em> at all the bookstores! (How great is it that people are actually turning off their TVs and reading<\/em> these captivating books?) In town, people began to gather in groups and long lines to get their copies of that much anticipated final book. I must admit I’m a big fan of the entire series, even though I usually tend to avoid trends that are so popular…but J.K. Rowling is just an excellent author. ..and I happily partake of her talents.<\/p>\n

Even so – no, I wasn’t in line tonight \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

But on to the intended post: a new decision… <\/strong><\/p>\n

Tonight as the moon approached first quarter, I was pondering the many messages we’re getting from our friends and fans requesting downloadable versions of the complete songs…and a couple of realizations broke thru the clouds:<\/p>\n

  1. Do it NOW! The more we interact on the internet, the faster we expect delivery of what we want. Who wants to wait for CD’s, when lots of people don’t even use them anymore? The band and I have tended to think in terms of physical CDs because we can offer them at live shows, but really, the web is so liberating that way – we’ll just start posting each song quickly, as they are mixed, and make them available for immediate download. That way you can put them on your i-pods, i-phones or whatever, and go!<\/li>\n
  2. There’s other songs that would be fun to post – songs done with other band configurations and musical projects that are just sitting around… even slightly different genres of music. (Brian and I both compose music outside of the Rock Scarlet project). Songs from past bands and projects, too. I’m going to gather these\u00a0 together and post some of them, too.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    I have a page on soundclick<\/a>, so that is probably where we’ll put them first. But I’ll probably start posting them here on scarletjinn.com once I figure out the best way to offer them.<\/p>\n

    Anyway, the end result is that you’ll have access to more material<\/em> at the click of a mouse.<\/p>\n
