Zeitgeist Movies

I’m always recommending the Zeitgeist movies, and it just occurred to me that I don’t think I’ve done so on this blog.

Why do I recommend them?  Well, if you’re only reading this because you think my bands “rock”,  then it may not interest you, and you might just want to skip this particular post.  But if you’re here because you’re a fellow Psychanaut, or someone concerned about where our “civilization”  is at present, or if you’re  concerned about politics and consciousness, or, as Terence McKenna said “the opportunities of our dilemma” — watch these movies.  I think you’ll love them.

When you watch it, you may just be feeling like “I already know this” – and often, you do.  The first half details everything that’s f*cked up: our environment, corporatism, power structures, organized religion, mindless consumerism, etc.  But the second half is amazing.  These movies have nothing to do with “entertainment” and everything to do with our evolution as individuals, as a society, and as a species.  At the time of this writing there are three movies, and I think the third “Zeitgeist:Moving Forward” is the best yet.

It devotes a decent amount of time to the ideas of futurist Jaques Fresco, who at 90+ years appears to be unstoppable.
